Getting 'Evaluation Period Has Expired' message

We recently bought the RichSuite set and are currently trying to use the RichTextBox and RichHelpTip components in an ASP.NET 2.0 web application. The RichHelpTip component works fine when we run it on our development systems in the VisualStudio 2005 debug mode (no eval message, etc). However, when we deploy the website to a web server, users get an 'Evaluation Period Has Expired' message box as soon as they click the help icon.

We are also using the RichTextBox component and it works fine in both the development and server environments. We have copied the RichHelpTip.dll and XML files to the server website bin folder. What is going on here and how do we fix it? This is threatening to hold up our testing and deployment.

    Hi Erik,

We could not able to regenerate the problem.

Please check whether the application in server referring the any old RichHelpTip dll ie from GAC.

Also check the RichHelpTip dll version by righ clicking the dll in bin folder of the server application then properties-->'version' tab-->productname.

Please let us know if you have further queries.

    Regards,
    Subhash.

Re: Getting 'Evaluation Period Has Expired' message

The server is a new build, so there were no other RichHelpTip DLLs. I followed the dirctions you gave above for looking at the DLL version and got the following result:
    "RichHelpTip Developer v2.0 Build 1"

I had downloaded an eval copy of the RichHelpTip component to my development laptop and thought that perhaps I had mixed the two up and was copying the eval DLL to the server. However, a coworker (who we also got a license for) never downloaded an eval copy (only his purchased copy) and his Dll/License code has the same problem of working on his development laptop, but not on the server.

One sort of odd thing, is that we purchased our components in late January when I believe you were in the process of upgrading the components from version 2.0 to 3.0. When we purchased the Suite, all of the components were version 2.0 except for the RichTextBox which was version 3.0 (ie: our license codes are all for 2.0 except for the text box which is 3.0). Oddly enough, it is the RichTextBox component that does work on the server. Is it possible that the license files we were sent were also intended for 3.0?

Is it possible for me to forward to you the email that we received with our license codes and then have you email us back a RichHelpTip DLL that we can be sure works with that license code and then we can go from there?
